Waste Management

RichWave's operating locations do not engage in production, thus the waste generated consists of mainly office waste. Electronic wastes mainly come from laboratory tests and product samples preserved for QA purposes; these include hazardous wastes such as electronic scraps and defective products. RichWave has established a dedicated waste management unit in charge of hazardous waste declaration, disposal, and reduction. It is also responsible for monitoring waste disposal to make sure that the process complies with the government's environmental policies and regulations. The Company also implements proper waste disposal and reduction practices, and has set a target in 2023 to reduce waste generation at its Taiwan sites by 4.8% by 2030, using 2022 as the baseline year.

To materialize responsible production and mitigate our operating wastes' potential environmental impact, RichWave has implemented the following waste management strategies in various stages.

Waste Management Target

In 2025, the Company’s waste generation totaled 12.34 metric tons, resulting in a waste intensity of 0.0033 metric tons per NT$ million revenue. Notably, general business waste accounted for 97.8% of the total, with incineration being the primary treatment method. Hazardous business waste, mainly consisting of scrapped products and electronic waste, amounted to 0.27 metric tons, making up approximately 2.2% of the total waste. According to statistics provided by waste disposal contractors, the actual recovery rate of our hazardous business waste reached approximately 95%, of which 0.11% is reintegrated into various stages of the product lifecycle through closed-loop recycling. Waste generation in 2025 increased by 9.2% compared to 2024, mainly due to changes in the production process, which led to a 12.7% increase in waste paper recycling compared to 2024.

RichWave's current product-related waste recycling items are mainly packaging materials, IC scraps, and defective products, with a total recycling volume of 2.93 metric tons in 2025, which was delivered to qualified and professional waste processing vendors for recycling and reuse. In the future, RichWave will proactively plan and expand the diversified use of recycled materials to achieve the goals of a circular economy and improve resource utilization efficiency.

Note1. The estimation method for general waste in 2025 at the Hsinchu branch involves measuring the daily general waste production per capita, extrapolated to estimate the Company-wide daily general waste production per capita.

Note2. The hazardous business waste consists of electronic scraps and defective products.

Note3. Waste is disposed of 100% off-site by qualified contractors, with statistics covering operations in Taiwan.
